I regularly seek out group and individual coaching to improve in these areas of my life. I can’t be the best without a coach.

Coaching Relationships

Working with me in a coaching relationship is an ongoing conversation for the duration of our time together. We will meet for an initial consultation for 60-90 minutes and do deep coaching together. We will begin to shift some things in your life and create change for you right from the beginning.

If we decide we want to work together further, we can decide to create a relationship for 3-6 months. We will meet every other week in person or via teleconference, and then talk by email, text or phone in between so you can share your breakdowns and breakthroughs.

What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

Great question. I get this a lot. There are some similarities between coaching and psychotherapy, they are very different activities and it is important to understand the differences between them. Psychotherapy is a health care service and may be reimbursable through health insurance policies.

This is not true for coaching. Both coaching and psychotherapy utilize knowledge of human behavior, motivation and behavioral change, and interactive counseling techniques. The major differences are in the goals, focus, and level of professional responsibility.

The primary goals of psychotherapy are identification, diagnosis, and treatment of mental and nervous disorders. The goals of psychotherapy include alleviating symptoms, understanding the underlying dynamics which create symptoms, changing dysfunctional behaviors which are the result of these disorders, and developing new strategies for successfully coping with the psychological challenges which we all face.

The focus of coaching is development and implementation of strategies to reach client-identified goals of improved performance and personal satisfaction. Coaching addresses specific personal projects, life balance, job performance and satisfaction, or general conditions in the client’s life, business, or profession.
